Indian Space Program
Introduction
Initially, defense forces realized they needed more precise monitoring during Operation Sindoor. Therefore, the Union government ordered the rapid launch of 52 dedicated surveillance satellites. This will improve round-the-clock monitoring of the coastline and land borders.
The Cabinet Committee, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, agreed to spend $3.2 billion on the SBS-III program in October of last year. The program will build next-generation satellites over the next 10 years.
ISRO will build and launch the first 21 satellites as part of its program. Private companies will take care of the other 31. The Defence Space Agency (DSA) will be responsible for the new satellite system.

ISO to Launch Satellites ASAP
“We have asked ISRO and private companies to launch satellites as soon as possible. These new satellites will have radar imaging technology that is better than what we have now. This system will help with surveillance in all weather and at all times of day and night. “We expect the first group of satellites to launch by 2026,” stated a senior official.
After the defense forces realized they needed a closer watch during Operation Sindoor, the union government ordered the quick launch of 52 dedicated surveillance satellites. This will enhance the continuous monitoring of the coastline and land borders.

The Defence Space Agency (DSA)
Private companies will take care of the other 31. The Defence Space Agency (DSA) will oversee the new satellite system. CDS says that India is working on a “military space doctrine” that should be ready in three months.
The official went on to say that the new satellites will use artificial intelligence (AI) to make better choices and boost their overall performance and efficiency in space.

During Operation Sindoor, Indian defense forces were able to react quickly thanks to satellite-based surveillance, which gave them accurate information about the paths and movements of drones and missiles.
India will be less dependent on other countries and more self-sufficient after the successful implementation of SBS-III. It will help you see the border between Pakistan and China and the Indian Ocean region more clearly and accurately. People said that China helped Pakistan with satellites during Operation Sindoor.
India’s satellites, such as the Cartosat and RISAT, helped the military keep track of enemy movements, confirm the effects of strikes, and stay aware of what was going on in real time. The initiative kept the country’s military assets safe from major damage.
